The distance from Pune to Bhimashankar is about 110 km. Government MSRTC buses (non-luxury) run from Pune to Bhimashankar every 30 minutes from 5:00 am till 4:00 pm. You can get State Transport buses from Shivajinagar, Pune. The fare is Rs. 165 and it takes around 4-5 hours to reach there from Pune from Pune to Nashik road all the way upto Rajguru Nagar. After taking left from Rajgurunagar we took State highway 54 which directly takes you all the way up to the Bhimashankar. While majority of the SH 54 is in good condition but last 10-15 km before temple the road is in terrible condition and potholes all around and takes almost 40-45 minutes to cross this small patch. There are a number of scenic spots on SH 54 where one could stop for taking pictures. There is sufficient parking once you reach temple. After parking vehicle one has to walk down around 200-300 stairs to reach temple.

Temple is very old and beautiful. While climbing down stairs we were lucky to spot Giant Squirrel on one of the tree. While coming back we took the Manchar road which we found better than SH54.
Hill station - Bhimashankar hill station is a mind blowing spot situated in green Bhimashankar hills. Nestled between Sahyadri Mountains, this place offers a scenic holiday & god's destination.
